It’s common to feel left out when you don’t share the same interests or desires as others. Hence, you might feel uncomfortable and try to fit in.
But do you need to? Maybe not.
- You don’t have to post a picture of yourself pouting at a burger stand on social media
- You don’t have to watch Game of Thrones, simply because your peers wouldn’t stop rambling about it
- You don’t have to speak about the social issues that you have no clue about
You see, it’s easy to manipulate your real self and do things that you don’t care about. But is it worth it? Imagine the worst-case scenario.
What if you don’t fit in?
You might be labeled as the boring one or the loner. I think that’s fine – as you’re not pretending to be someone you’re not.
The world has enough people doing things because others do them – you’ll be fine without joining the crowd. To be honest, the crowd doesn’t care.
